IPL 10: Afghan spin sensation Rashid Khan wants to meet Indian legends Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, MS Dhoni

New Delhi: While team India is preparing to face the mighty Aussies in the 3rdTest match at Ranchi, near the capital of the country in Greater Noida, Rashid Khan is sweating it out with his Afghanistan team mates to face Ireland in a three-match ODI series.

In the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 10 auction, he made history along with his team mater Mohammad Nabi after getting picked up for a price of INR 4 crore by current champions Sunrisers Hyderabad. The later was picked up for INR 30 lakh, also by Sunrisers Hydrebad.

The youngster admitted that it came as a surprise after seeing big players like Imran Tahir going unsold.

"My family woke me up and told that auction has started. Me and Nabi were watching the live streaming of the auction. I still can't describe the feeling when my name came up for auction," he told India Today.

"I was confident of getting selected as I had performed well in the last World T20, Asia Cup and the BPL. But when many top players went unsold, including Imran Tahir, I started to feel the pressure and got tense. I thought that maybe the franchisees are not interested in buying a spinner. But when the bidding started, I was so surprised to see franchisee going after me. I never thought that I will be sold for such a huge price," he added.

The leg spinner's happiness didn't get restricted there as five days back he was auctioned in the Carribean Premier League for $60,000 by Guyana Amazon Warriors.

The leggie in the interview further said that "I love Sachin Tendulkar a lot. He has been a huge inspiration all these years. I want to meet him and will try to get a few tips from him. I also want to meet Virender Sehwag and MS Dhoni."

He is also excited to play and learn along with David Warner, Yuvraj Singh, Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan.

Khan has been phenomenal for the Afghanistan cricket team. He took 5 wickets in 9 balls for figures of 2-1-3-5 in the 2nd T20I against Ireland . The cricket team is on a 10 match T20 winning streak.
