MI vs SRH: David Warner takes `double hit` against Mumbai Indians, napping IPL umpires clueless
David Warner, who hit a boundary off the last ball of the sixth over bowled by Jasprit Bumrah, was supposed to be the batsman at the non-striker`s end.
New Delhi: A strange incident happened on Wednesday during the Mumbai Indians-Sunrisers Hyderabad match of 2017 Indian Premier League at Wankhede stadium.
David Warner, who hit a boundary off the last ball of the sixth over bowled by Jasprit Bumrah, was supposed to be the batsman at the non-striker's end, giving the strike to Shikhar Dhawan. But umpires messed up big time, allowing the Aussie batsman to get a double hit in the 7th over.
He faced the first ball of the seventh over, bowled by Mitchell McClenaghan.
The openers Dhawan and Warner went onto post almost identical scores of 48 and 49 respectively. But despite that paltform, the defending champions failed to post a good total.
Their total of 158/8 was below par.
