New Delhi: New Zealand cricketers are known for their super-human fielding efforts. Keeping the legacy alive, Martin Guptill took a stunning catch to send back Mumbai Indians opener Lendl Simmons at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.

Chasing a 231-run target, the hosts rode on a brilliant opening stand of Lendl and Parthiv Patel. The duo posted 99 runs in 8.4 overs for the opening stand, and threatened to overhaul the target.


Then in the tenth over, Kings XI Punjab skipper Glenn Maxwell returned for his second over. The move resulted in the wicket of Simmons, who tried to send the ball over long-on boundary; but there, he found a leaping Guptill.


The Kiwi perfected the jump and plucked one of thin air to stun the home side. Here's the video:



Earlier, Guptil played a cameo, scoring 36 runs off 18 balls with the help of five fours and a six.
