It's over. South Africa win the match as JP Duminy hits Jaydev Unadkat for back-to-back sixes to seal the deal for the Proteas with eight balls to spare. Massive six-wicket win! After Heinrich Klaasen's 69 off 30 balls, skipper Duminy led from the front and remained unbeaten on 64 off 40 balls. The series is now levelled at 1-1. The third and last T20 will be played on Saturday at Cape Town's Newlands.
Shardul Thakur bowls well under pressure but an edge off JP Duminy's bat off the last ball makes it 10 in the 18th over. South Africa now need 16 runs from 12 balls. The home team is in the driver's seat as of now.
South Africa 163/4 in 17 overs. Need 26 runs in three overs to level the series at 1-1. It's also drizzling a little but it's not serious enough to force the umpires to stop the match.
Another bad over from Yuzvendra Chahal. He is having a bad at the office. 14 runs from the over. He finishes with 0/64, most expensive bowling figures ever by an Indian in T20s. South Africa 156/4 in 16 overs. Target: 189
Wicket Alert. Hardik Pandya gets rid of the dangerous David Miller for 5. South Africa 141/4 in 14.5 overs. Tries to hit a shortish ball out of the park but finds an edge and Shardul Thakur takes a nice catch at deep fine leg. Target 189.
Wicket Alert. Jaydev Unadkat does the job for India. Sends back the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen with a slower ball for 69 off 30 balls. India are back in the game. South Africa 131/3 in 13.1 overs. Target: 189.
Heinrich Klaasen is really turning it around for South Africa and Yuzvendra Chahal is in the line of fire. Two sixes and one four seem to have demoralised the Indian bowler. And then JP Duminy adds insult to injury with another six off the last ball of the over. South Africa 131/2 in 13 overs. Target 189
Maiden fifty for Heinrich Klaasen. Comes with a four off Hardik Pandya, and it has come in just 22 balls. As of now, he appears the danger man for the Indian team. South Africa 108/2 in 12 overs. Target: 189.
South Africa are halfway through their innings. They still need 105 to win. The asking rate is over 10 and Heinrich Klaasen and captain JP Duminy will have to up the ante. They can't leave it late. They will have to keep up with the required run rate.
South Africa 70/2 in 8 overs. Klaasen 24*, Duminy 16*. Target: 189. This partnership is crucial to the Proteas' chances in this match. If India could break this stand, they will definitely back themselves for a 2-0 lead in the three-game series.
Heinrich Klaasen has come at the crease with a purpose. Takes two big sixes off the Jaydev Unadkat over. South Africa realise very well that they should not fall behind with the asking rate. South Africa 50/2 in 6 overs. Target 189
Another South African wicket falls. It's Reeza Hendricks this time. Tries to hit Shardul Thakur out of the park but finds Hardik Pandya at deep square leg. He goes for 26. South Africa 38/2 in five overs. Target: 189.
Jaydev Unadkar strikes for India with a slower one. Good comeback from him after conceding two fours to Hendricks earlier in the over. South Africa 24/1 in 4 overs. Target: 189
Shardul Thakur, who came in place of the injured Jasprit Bumrah, starts well and concedes just three runs in his first over. South Africa 4/0 in 2 overs, in pursuit of 189 runs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, first Indian bowler to take a five-for across all formats, starts the proceedings for the visitors and does a good job. Concedes just one run. South Africa 1/0 in 1 over, in pursuit of India's 188/4.
India put up 188/4 in 20 overs.
What a last over played by Dhoni! He was on back foot and still punched Paterson for a six over extra cover. That's MSD for you. Next ball a whip through square-leg for four. Then another four, not where in intended but the inside-edge went between the two fielders and short square leg and short fine leg. Next ball looked like going straight to long-off fielder running in, but it fell short of him and Dhoni crossed for a couple to complete his second T20I fifty. He finished at 52* off 28 balls and Pandey 79* off 48. Last 10 overs produced 103 runs.
Yorker goes wrong and Dhoni (35*) whips Morris to deep-square-leg fence for a four. He then pulls Morris, doesn't find the middle of the bat and Dala looks to be getting under it running to his right from deep mid-wicket. But the ball goes straight through his hands. SIX. 13 runs off the over. India 170/4 in 19 overs.
Dala (2/28) bowls out but not before a bit of stick from Pandey, who carved a four over cover point and then scooped a slow bouncer to fine leg for another boundary. India 157/4 in 18 overs.
Fifty stands between Pandey (65*) and Dhoni (24*) comes up in 34 balls, after four overthrows, which benefitted Pandey, and then a thick edge off Dhoni's bat that went to third-man for a boundary. Exactly what the doctor ordered for India, who are 146/4 in 17 overs.
SIX! Pandey (58*) clears his front leg to one that was right in the slot from Morris and smacks it way back into the fans behind the mid-wicket fence. Nine runs off the 16th over. India 133/4.
Fifty for Manish Pandey in 33 balls - second in T20Is. Dhoni (17*), who hit a straight six off Shamsi, has made his intentions clear. India looking good to reach 175 if these two carry on. It's 124/4 in 15 overs.
Junior Dala comes back for his third over, and Pandey (46* off 28) decides to take him on. A swat through the mid-wicket for a four and then a lucky boundary behind the wicketkeeper after an attempted pull resulted in a top edge. India 106/4 in 13 overs.
Phehlukwayo strikes! The ball hits Raina on the front pad, and the bowler's extended appeal convinced the umpire to raise his finger after he thought hard. Raina had a word with Pandey about taking DRS, but they decide against it. He's gone for 30, just when things started looking good for India. 92/4 in 11 overs. Dhoni joins Pandey.
Pandey (32* off 19) takes off, and Shamsi's figures have gone for a toss. Two sixes in the same direction - over mid-wicket - and well into the stands. Both deliveries were in the arch for Pandey to take a swing, and it met the sweet part of the bat on each occasion. 19 runs off the over. India 85/3 in 10 overs
An edge off Manish Pandey's breaks the shackles, albeit in a lucky way, with a boundary. He's onto 13* off 13. Raina, on 26*, has curbed his attacking instincts after the fall of Kohli. India 66/3 in 9 overs.
India's fifty comes up in 6.5 overs, with Raina (23) the senior partner. Manish Pandey (4*) will have to stay busy and give more of the strike to the left-hander, who is more likely to pull off the big shots. India 53/3 in 7 overs.
OUT! Dala gets the big wicket of Virat Kohli (1) off a peach of a delivery. It was short of length, bounced and brushed the Indian captain's glove before going straight to wicketkeeper Klaasen. India 45/3 in 5.3 overs.
Wicket Alert! Duminy comes on to bowl and gets the dangerous Dhawan (24 off 14) off a full toss, which the Indian opener hit straight to Behardien at mid-on. Virat Kohli walks in. Raina on 20* off 13. India 45/2 in 5 overs.
Raina (20* off 11) puts Paterson to sword! Three fours in the over. First a little improvised one as he made room to hit it wide to the left of third-man fielder. Then a whip to mid-wicket fence and then a fine glance for third four. Two big overs in a row. India 40/1 in 4 overs.
Morris on the shorter side in his second over but credit to Dhawan for cashing in with two pulls, a cut and a hook. The first pull shot resulted in a four and the second in a big six. It followed a boundary in front of point, and the best one came off the penultimate ball - a hook for second SIX in the over. 20 runs off the over. Dhawan (20*) is rock-and-rolling after surviving that lbw off the first ball of the match. India 28/1 in 3 overs.
First-ball duck for Rohit Sharma! Junior Dala begins like Morris and hits Rohit plumb in front. No need to review that as the batsman starts walking back. Perfect start for South Africa. India 0/1. It follows an edgy start for Raina as well as his outside edge goes wide of second slip and past the third-man fence. But it followed a confident straight punch by the comeback man for a couple. India 8/1 after 2 overs.
Eventful first over. Dhawan has a wild swing on two occasions in that over and missed both times. Edgy start for him and India, but a maiden by Morris to begin proceedings. India 0/0 in 1 over.
Wicket first ball, or is it? Chris Morris's ball hits Shikhar Dhawan on the back leg and the umpire raises his finger straight away, but the Indian opener went for a review straight away. And he is right. There's a clear inside-edge onto the bat. NOT OUT! What a start to the match! The umpire changes his decision.
Team News: South Africa unchanged from the first T20I. India forced to make a change as Jasprit Bumrah is out due to an abdominal injury. Shardul Thakur gets a game.

Hello and a very warm welcome to our continued coverage of India's tour of South Africa. However, it's not been a very promising day so far weather-wise, as heavy showers washed out the women's T20I between India and South Africa at the venue earlier in the day. The men, thus, will hope the clouds clear up, for the visitors to have a crack at sealing the series and the hosts to keep it alive with a win.
