Asked to bat first, India posted a mammoth target of 202 runs in their stipulated 20 overs, thanks to KL Rahul (54) and Shikhar Dhawan (52) for their 97-run partnership for the opening wicket and Manish Pandey (31 off 18 balls) and Shardul Thakur (22 off 8 balls) short cameo.
For Sri Lanka, Lakshan Sandakan was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets.
In reply, Navdeep Saini finished with figures of three for 28 while Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur bagged two wickets each as the Men in Blue bundle out Sri Lanka for 123 in 15.5 overs. Dhananjay de Silva was the top scorer for Sri Lanka with 57 runs.
Earlier, India took an unassailable 1-0 lead in the series after clinching a crushing seven-wicket win in the second T20I at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. The opening T20I between the two sides was abandoned due to wet outfield.
