New Delhi: West Indies hopes of avoiding a 3-0 series whitewash to the hands of Pakistan entirely depends on their performance in Day 2 of the 3rd Test in Sharjah.
WEST INDIES 1ST INNINGS
A good day for West Indies, despite losing 4 wickets for 68 runs. The 83 runs partnership between Chase-Brathwaite and another 83 runs between Brathwaite-Dowrich was the key for visitors. West Indies trail by 37 runs with 4 wickets in hand.

Riaz broke the 6th wicket stand for West Indies, he castled Dowrich for 47 runs against the run of play. Brathwaite is 5 runs short of his 5th Test century.

It's been a good partnership from Windies point of view, Brathwaite has found a good partner in the form of Dowrich. Misbah & co have tried every possible bowler to break this stand but so far they are unsuccessful. Joseph removes both Yasir and Amir in the 91st over to restrict Pakistan on 281. Can the West Indies batsmen bat throughout the day and put on 200+ score on board?

As expected, Bishoot-Gabriel begin proceedings for West Indies with the ball. Certain test for Amir and Yasir to see out the first few overs.
Devendra Bishoo and Shanon Gabriel were outstanding for the visitors on Day 1, picking up 4 and 3 wickets respectively after Pakistan were once crusing at 230 for the loss of 4 wickets.
It was an extremely contrasting day for Pakistan with the bat, as their batsmen either secured half-centuries or failed to even register a double-digit score.
Sami Aslam was the hosts top-scorer with 74 with Misbah-ul-Haq, Younis Khan and Sarfaraz Ahmed following up with 53, 51 and 51 respectively.
Pakistan will resume the day on 255/8 as West Indies are expected to continue with the in-form bowling duo of Shannon Gabriel and Devendra Bishoo since beginning.
Ahmed and Misbah had added 80 for the fifth wicket but Pakistan lost four wickets in the space of 18 runs to slump at 248-8.
Jason Holder will be targeting to wrap-up the remaining two wickets in the first 5 overs, restricting the opponents to a score of less than 270.
Holder & Co. also would be determined to bat through the whole second day if they are to boost their chances of preventing another clean sweep to the hands of Pakistan.
Windies have already suffered a 3-0 whitewash against Pakistan, both in T20Is & ODIs and are trailing 2-0 in the Tests with the third match currently underway.
For the match, Pakistan brought back pacemen Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz -- rested for the second Test -- in place of Sohail Khan and Rahat Ali.
West Indies also made two changes from the Abu Dhabi Test, with fit-again wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich replacing Shai Hope and paceman Alzarri Joseph coming in for Miguel Cummins.
The match resumes at 11:30 IST with Pakistan's Yasir Shah batting at 1 and Mohammad Amir at 8.
