New Delhi: The past week hasn't been best for the relations between India and Pakistan after militants had killed 19 Indian soldiers in Uri. The attack forced India to take strict action against the increasing terrorist activities in and around the Kashmir border.
Indian army quickly launched a surgical strike across the LoC. Sources claim that as many as seven terror launch pads were destroyed across LoC in the operation, which lasted from 12:30 am to 4:30 am, taking place 500 meters to 2 km across LoC.
Soon after the surgical strikes, former Pakistan ODI cricket team caption Shahid Afridi called for peach amongst the two nations as a war will go on to hurt both nations badly in this race for development. Contrary to his counterpart, another former Pakistani cricket Javed Miandad has rather called for an all-out war against India.
In conversation to a Pakistani news channel, this is what Miandad said:
Considering the increasing tensions between the two nations, the cricketing relations between the two have also been hugely affected.
BCCI president Anurag Thakur recently commented,
“Keeping in mind that the government has adopted a new strategy to isolate Pakistan and in view of the public sentiment in the country, we request ICC not to put India and Pakistan in the same pool of the multi-nation tournaments,”
The Pakistan Cricket Board have chosen to remain quiet on the matter, as BCCI President hints at writing to the ICC to not place Pakistan with India in the group stages of any ICC event. (READ: BCCI tells ICC not to put India, Pakistan in same group of international tournaments)
Situation between the two nations do not show signs of improvement after another Indian soldier was killed from attack by Pakistani militants on the Baramulla camp.
