R Ashwin opens up on criticism from MS Dhoni fans, asks trollers to not tag wife in tweets
Ashwin posted a thank you tweet with names of Virat Kohli, Anil Kumble and other coaches but fans were displeased seeing him forgetting to mention MS Dhoni`s name.
New Delhi: The No. 1 Test bowler on present, Ravichandran Ashwin was honored with the ICC Test Cricketer and Cricketer of the Year award for his instrumental performances throughout the year both with bat and ball.
The 30-year-old posted a thank you tweet with names of Virat Kohli, Anil Kumble and other coaches but fans were displeased seeing Ashwin not mentioned India's limited overs skipper MS Dhoni's name.
With the whole criticism of Ashwin's decision on not mentioning Dhoni's name heating up, the Tamil Nadu-born cricketer clarified his take on the trolls stating, "One small request, please do not tag my wife in all your funny tweets. She has better things to look after, although I am over it."
With his tweet, Ashwin termed what people are doing as funny and said he has no issues being targeted but asked them to not tag his wife in the matter as she has better things to take care of (their newborn 2nd baby).
Ashwin also retweeted a fan's tweet mentioning how social media made two brothers – MS Dhoni and R Ashwin – look like enemies.
Ashwin's recent activity on his twitter account more-or-less clarifies his take on the whole controversy.
