Sagar Mishra: Western Railways’ batsman scores six sixes in an over in Times Shield match

New Delhi: Western Railways' 23-year-old batsman Sagar Mishra entered history books as he slammed six consecutive sixes in an over on Day Two of Times Shield 'B' Division game against RCF.

According to a report in The Times of India, the left-hander, who made his First Class debut for Railways against Mumbai at the Wankhede last year, tonked nine sixes off the last 11 balls he faced.

Having scored 51 runs off 35 balls, the left-hander stepped up the gas against off-spinner Tushar Kumare.

By hitting six sixes in an over, Sagar has become third Indian cricketer after Ravi Shastri and Yuvraj Singh to have achieved the feat.

"It's a dream come true. I remember watching Yuvraj Singh's six sixes in an over on TV nine years back. Never did I imagine that I'd do something similar," Mishra told the newspaper.

In a Ranji Trophy match back in 1985, Shastri had hit Baroda spinner Tilak Raj for six sixes in an over.

Yuvraj, on the other hand, is the only Indian cricketer to have done so in international cricket. The southpaw hammered England's Stuart Broad for six sixes in ICC World Twenty20 2007.
