The incident occurred when the Sri Lankan fast bowler was returning to Colombo from Kandy.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that the motorcycle rider, moving in the opposite direction, flung into Kulasekara's path after he tried to overtake a bus.

The cricketer was later released on bail.

Earlier in the year, the 34-year-old retired from Test cricket in order to prolong his limited-overs career.
