Supreme Court clips BCCI wings, auditor to be appointed to track financial transactions

New Delhi: The war between BCCI and former chief justice RM Lodha led Lodha Panel has been going against the former with the Supreme Court hitting hard at the cricketing body's chief Anurag Thakur for his lethargic attitude in getting the reforms applied.

The recent developments saw Lodha Panel directing BCCI's bansk against shelling out money to state associations until they agree to follow the reforms.

On Friday, October 21, the Supreme Court has directed the Lodha Panel to put a cap on the financial transactions limit of the BCCI and even appoint an independent auditor to scrutinize BCCI's transactions.

1. Lodha panel to appoint an independent auditor to scrutinize accounts of BCCI.

2. Lodha panel to fix a limit on financial transactions of BCCI, a move that will likely affect the award of contract for IPL and other tournaments.

3. BCCI chief Anurag Thakur to personally appear before the LodhaPanel and explain how board will implement all reforms

4. BCCI president and secretary to file affidavit by December 3 indicating how much time it would take to fully implement reforms

5. Lodha panel to fix a limit on monetary value of contracts BCCI can enter into; all contracts above this limit to be approved by RM Lodha led panel.

6. No money to be given to state associations until they comply with Lodha panel recommendations
