New Delhi: As compared to batsmen bowler's enjoy fewer special moments in their career, but it becomes all the more jubilant when bowler takes a ten-wicket or a five-wicket haul in his career. Or sometimes he takes a hat-trick which is indeed a very note worthy moment of their life.

Such was the moment for Chetan Sharma, who is regraded as one of the fastest bowlers in India during the 1980s. Though he was injured most of the time, but when available he was the first choice to open the bowling with the great Kapil Dev.

One the of the most noted moments in the career of Chetan was when he took a hat-trick against New Zealand in the 1987 Cricket World Cup also known as the Reliance World Cup.

On October 31th, 1987 Sharma, 50, took the wickets of Ken Rutherford, Ian Smith and Ewen Chatfield off consecutive balls. With this hat-trick Chetan registered his name in the history, as he became the first bowler in the world to take a hat-trick in the World Cup.
