New Delhi: Virat Kohli, the man who is used to scoring hundreds on the 22-yard pitch, hit a whooping Rs. 110 crore deal with sports brand Puma by becoming their brand ambassador.
With this eight-year endorsement contract, Kohli became the first Indian sportsperson to pocket a single deal worth Rs 100 crore or above.
Seeing Virat Kohli becoming the latest sporting star endorse Puma, sprint legend Usain Bolt tweeted him a congratulatory message,

Kohli, too quickly followed in by thanking the Jamaican with a beautiful message.

As per the deal, the Indian cricket team captain is likely to launch a signature line of sports lifestyle products which will also have a special logo and brand identity.
"It's a privilege to be part of a great list of athletes that Puma has. Not just today's icons like Usain Bolt but also the brand's rich history with Pele, Maradona, Thierry Henry and others," Kohli was quoted saying in the report confirming the endorsement.
"Both Puma and I are committed to a long-term partnership. I am impressed by the way Puma has gained popularity and market leadership in India in a short period of time," he added.
While other Indian cricketers like MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar have been a part of the Rs 100 crore club, but they did so with multi-year contracts with various brands, while Kohli got contracted with a single brand.
