New Delhi: The much entralling Border-Gavaskar series might have ended at HPCA stadium Dharamsala on a bright Tuesday afternoon with the Indians emerging victorious and reclaiming the trophy, but war-of-words between the two teams continue to fill up through social media sites. Former Aussie legends Mark Taylor, Dean Jones and other experts of the game have all put forth their disappointment towards Virat Kohli's parting words at the post-match press conference.
Moments after India's eight-wicket victory at Dharamsala, Indian skipper Kohli clearly mentioned in the post-match press conference that after all the altercations on and off the field, he doesn't consider Australian cricketers as his friends.
"No, it has changed for sure. I thought that was the case but it has changed for sure. As I said in the heat of the battle, you want to be competitive but yeah I have been proven wrong.
"The thing I said before the first Test, I have certainly been proven wrong and you won't hear me say that ever again," Kohli said.
Former Aussie cricketer, Mark Taylor felt that what happens on-field should be left back on the pitch and not carried on till the dressing room. In a blog for Wide World of Sports, Taylor wrote, "Cricketers play together a lot these days, both with and against each other, so you've got to be very careful about holding grudges and making stances like that."
Remembering his old days, Taylor wrote, "I always tried to catch up with the opposition after a match. There are series where you're disappointed because things didn't go your way, or you're delighted because things did go your way, but you have to be bigger than that."
Earlier yesterday, Australian left-arm pacer Mitchell Johnson took on social media to tweet, "Rahane should stay captain! It was a tough series but I believe it should stay on the field with the players."
Others who tweeted against the Delhi batsman include former Aussie cricketer Dean Jones and retired English cricketer David Lloyd.
Virat will learn that this great game is not just about winning and losing. It's also about the friends you make while playing the game.

Earlier today, Australian coach too came forth saying, "Disappointing but that's his opinion isn't it?"
