Chris Gayle is getting ready in Punjabi style to play the Indian Premier League (IPL) for his new employers, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). The party-loving West Indian batsman from Jamaica, whose big-hitting is tailor-made for the game's shorter formats, especially T20s, showcased some of his bhangra moves in a video posted on Instagram.

The 38-year-old veteran had to thank KXIP to stay in the IPL as he went unsold in the first round of players' auction in January this year. It was only when he was brought back into the auction pool that the Preity Zinta-owned Punjab franchise decided to rope him in for his base price of Rs. 2 crore.

And he is gearing up for the season, beginning April 7, in his typical style.

Gayle appeared for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the last seven editions of the IPL, but RCB didn't show any interest in either retaining him or buying him back at the fresh auction before the 11th edition of the league.

The West Indian's wealth of domestic T20 experience spans around 323 matches, which include a mind-boggling 20 centuries and 67 fifties at a strike rate of 148.98 and average of 40.69.

He has also scored two centuries in T20 Internationals.

Gayle hammered a record-breaking 175 not out in the 2013 edition of the IPL playing for RCB against Pune Warriors. His century in that whirlwind knock came off just 30 balls. It's also the highest score by a batsman in the T20 format.
