WATCH: Lasith Malinga destroys Aussie batsman's stumps on T20 comeback with unplayable ball

Malinga played his last international match in June 2016 in an Asia Cup match against UAE in which he injured his knee.

New Delhi: Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga was back to business after playing his first match after a year long injury. In a practice match against Australia's PM XI played on Wednesday, Malinga bowled the first over and took his 300th T20 victim in form of Prime Minister XI batsman D'Arcy Short.

Widely regarded as the king of yorkers, the 33-year-old bowled an unplayable inswinging yorker in the first over of the innings. The batsman hardly had any time to react and in fraction of seconds, he could see the middle stump knocked off the pitch.

Malinga played his last international match in June 2016 in an Asia Cup match against UAE in which he took 4 for 26. However, he injured his knee was ruled out for a year and he also missed the T20 World Cup. He captained Sri Lanka and led them to win the 2014 ICC World T20.

The Lankan great would be hoping to stick to winning ways and be a part of the Champions Trophy which is to be played later this year in June.

Sri Lanka will play Australia in a three-match T20I series. The first match will be played on 17th February at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Australia is being led by Aaron Finch and there is a new team for the series as other players are on a tour to India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
