New Delhi: Indian captain Virat Kohli was indeed shown by his compatriot Steve Smith why the latter is No. 1 in Test cricket. While Kohli failed to correctly judge the trajectory of a Steve O'Keefe delivery, Smith registered his first ton on Indian soil to get the Aussies into commanding position.
Having scored four double hundreds in the last few months, Kohli was hoping to produce a better show today after being dismissed by Mitchell Starc on a duck in first innings. O’Keefe, who bagged 6 wickets in the first innings, already had 5 under his belt in second by the time Tea session came on Day 3 in Pune. (IND vs AUS, 1st Test - Scorecard | As it happened)
To get the Indian captain out for 13, O'Keefe had produced an unbelievable delivery which Kohli left thinking it was quite wide outside the off-stump, but to his surprise, it went straight into the stumps.
