New Delhi: Days ahead of the official release of Mahendra Singh Dhoni biopic, Chennai-based actor Laxmi Raai said that she doesn't want her part to be shown in the movie.
"M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story" is indeed the story of the superstar cricketer, but according to reports the flick has got enough screen time to tell Dhoni's one-time girlfriend Priyanka Jha who died in an accident.
And speculations are rife that Raai’s part might also be shown in the film. Raai, who is making her Bollywood debut this year, also dated Dhoni in 2008, having a fling during Indian Premier League.
“I was the brand ambassador for the team that he was a part of and we were together for less than a year. We had never committed to each other and never thought of getting married either, so I don’t understand why people would talk about us. It didn’t work for us, so we moved on,” she told HT.
Talking about the possibility of the movie carrying their 'relationship', she said, "I hope not. Though there was an indirect approach to know the story from my side but I have not given any such consent so they cannot claim a relationship existed unless they take names in the film."
“(Also) it’s not that he (Dhoni) has dated only me in his life. There have been other girls too that he’s been in relationship with after me. And a biopic is much more than just girls and relationships,” she added.
Dhoni tied the knot with Sakshi Rawat in 2010, and the coupled has been blessed with a baby girl, Ziva, in February 2015.
Director Neeraj Pandey's Sushant Singh Rajput starrer will finally release on Friday (September 20). It was previously slated to be released on September 2, after the makers of the film took the decision to present the film in the “best way”.
