New Delhi: On February 14, you can actually feel that 'love is in the air'. It's a day widely celebrated across the globe where people in love confess their feelings and embark on a 'happily ever after'.

Well, in a survey conducted by matchmaking site Jeevansathi.com, some really interesting findings have come to light. A volley of questions like were out across people of varied age groups and a collective data revealed 'singles take on Valentine's Day'.

As many as 63.3% of the people in the survey find PDA on social media interesting. Also, these days people are no more shy about gifting themselves on Valentine’s Day no matter how filmy it may sound to others. 

The age group of 29 – 32 years and 33 years and above are also quite forthcoming towards Valentines’ Day celebration (21.54% and 21.48% respectively). While people from Delhi NCR are more comfortable with PDA with 68.75% whereas Mumbai being comparatively low with 57.7%.

On the other hand, 78% of the people who say that Valentine’s Day is a good occasion to show love, like all the PDA floating around on social media.

Surprisingly, the survey revealed that 3 out 4 youngsters up to the age of 24 are more likely to buy a present this Valentine’s Day for themselves.

In the age of the internet, how can online match-making lag behind? The data showed that respondents falling in the age group of 33 and above are more open to meet someone new on Jeevansathi on Valentine’s Day with 51.4% followed by 25-28 years with 45.34%.

And the quality that one looks for in a partner ranges from a sense of humour to sense of style.

In the survey, sense of humour is highlighted to be the most desirable trait in a partner which people seek – 44.8% people are for this quality.

However, 20% of the respondents belonging to 18- 28 age bracket highlight sense of style to be an important factor to like in a partner.

Everyone loves surprises, the survey validates this with over 90% of the respondents looking forward to surprises on Valentine’s Day. 79% of the people who felt that they find it filmy to gift themselves, would rather be surprised on Valentine’s.
