Al-Qaeda suspect accuses Tihar guards of sexual harassment

New Delhi: An Al-Qaeda suspect lodged in Tihar jail on charges of radicalizing Rohingyas to fight the Myanmar Army has accused the prison guards of sexually harassing him, a media report said on Friday.

Rahman moved an application against five Tamil Nadu security personnel deployed in Tihar jail accusing them of sexual harassment, the ANI reported.

The 28-year-old was arrested by the special cell of the Delhi Police last month on charges of terror activities.

It is alleged that Rahman had come to India to train refugee Rohingya Muslims to fight the Myanmar Army.

He was reportedly indoctrinated during his time at a London prison.

Rahman, alias Hamdan, is a resident of Port Pool Lane in London, and was staying in India with a fake identity of Shumon Haq, a news portal reported.

His fake ID mentions his residential address as House No. 88, Mullabadi post office, Dhantola Thakurganj, Kishanganj, Bihar.

Rahman's father, who was a businessman, had moved to Britain from Bangladesh in the 1960s and settled in central London, the report added.

He was reportedly radicalized during his time at a London prison in 2012.

After his release, he went to Mauritania to join an Al-Qaeda affiliated group.

Rahman was arrested on September 19 from Shakarpur after he was allegedly trying to set an Al-Qaeda base in the Delhi-NCR to recruit cadres for jihad.

The police had seized a 9mm pistol, a laptop and a mobile phone from his possession.
