New Delhi: In a major setback to Arvind Kejriwal ahead of crucial MCD elections, AAP MLA Ved Prakash has joined BJP.
Confirming the development, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari tweeted about the Ved Prakash's joining of BJP.
"Sh. Ved Prakash ji MLA of @AamAadmiParty today joined @BJP4Delhi. He was fed up of corruption and nepotism within AAP #CorruptAAP (sic), " Manoj Tiwari tweeted.

Also, in a series of tweets, Delhi BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal S Bagga revealed the reasons why the AAP MLA has joined BJP.
According to Tajinder Pal S Bagga, Ved Prakash has resigned from MLA and all other posts as well and he is joining BJP because he wants to work under the leadership of 'Saint' Narendra Modi.

"Don't wan't any post, just want to work with honesty; Kejriwal shattered my hopes," Ved Prakash said.
Also, Ved Prakash said that 30-35 AAP MLA are fed up with Kejriwal.

"Kejriwal's only job is to level allegations against PM Narendra Modi; the Delhi CM did nothing in the past two years," Ved Prakash said.

Political experts see this blow as a major setback to AAP as MCD elections are just a few days away.

The date for the elections to the three municipal corporations in the national capital was postponed by a day to 23 April in view of the CBSE board examination.
The date for counting of votes has also been extended to 26 April.
