Designing a Universal UART Sniffer


During his internship at Apple Inc., Hitesh took on the challenge of designing and developing a universal UART Sniffer—a critical tool for monitoring and debugging communication protocols. This project required a comprehensive approach, from the creation of the initial block diagram to the final stages of testing. Utilizing the PIC32 microcontroller and PICkit 3 debugger, Hitesh wrote firmware in C that featured auto baud detection and auto voltage level detection, adding robustness and versatility to the tool. His work ensured that engineers had a reliable and efficient tool for their debugging needs, exemplifying his technical acumen and problem-solving abilities.

Enhancing Efficiency at T-Star Instrumentation

Before his tenure at Apple, Hitesh made significant contributions as a Technical Assistant II at T-Star Instrumentation PVT. LTD. in India. In this role, he was tasked with testing and optimizing application-specific process control instruments. Demonstrating his commitment to efficiency, Hitesh remodeled over 10,000 instruments, leading to improved operational productivity. His hands-on work with the installation of a Digital Wattmeter for Bharat Gears LTD. highlighted his ability to deliver solutions that meet stringent client requirements, ensuring the smooth operation of critical systems.
