New Delhi: On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Tajinder Pal S Bagga on Wednesday urged Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal to end the restrictions on journalists he imposed when he became the Chief Minister.

The AAP government had earlier restricted the entry of journalists into the secretariat complex.

World Press Freedom Day is observed on May 3 to celebrate fundamental principles of press freedom.

Taking to Twitter, Bagga said:

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi pitched for a "free and vibrant press" and said it is "vital for democracy".

In a tweet, he said it "is a day to reiterate our unwavering support towards" the press.
