Rithala Metro Station 'electrocution' video is a FAKE!

New Delhi: Visuals of over a dozen people lying unconscious on ground at Delhi's Rithala Metro Station became viral across the social media platforms, triggering panic about some untoward incident.

Several handles on Twitter, which shared the visuals, claimed that those lying on the ground were actually hurt by electrocution.

However, it has now emerged that they were part of a mock drill conducted by the authorities there.

As official statement issued by the authorities later said that it was just a mock drill conducted by District Disaster Management Authority (North-West) Office of the District Magistrate (North-West).

"It is to inform you that the state level mock drill is scheduled to be held on 30/06/2017 at 5 locations of District North-West at one time," it said.

Here's one such video of the Rithala Metro Station mock drill posted on Twitter by a user.
