Reportedly, the girl was raped four-five times over the period of last one year by her 51-year-old neighbour. The class 10 student had gone to the school in Mukherjee Nagar to appear in an exam when she felt stomach ache.

Owing to pain, the girl went to the washroom where she gave birth to a baby. The 15-year-old was immediately rushed to the hospital. Following the incident, the school authority informed the police.

According to the police, the accused used to give money to the girl asking her not to inform about his activities to anyone, reported PTI. However, he has been arrested on Saturday after the victim identified him. The accused hailing from Bihar is an autorickshaw driver in Delhi.

During the interrogation, the accused revealed that he gave some abortion pills to the victim after she informed him about her stomach pains. However, he did not realise that those pills failed to work.

Apparently, the pills created complications due to which the girl delivered a premature baby in its 26th week, an official added.

Her parents were clueless about their daughter's pregnancy and thereby ignored her stomach problem thinking it as a mere gastric ailment.
