New Delhi: Premium train tickets are likely to see a downward trend in the coming days.

As per The Economic Times report, Railways Minister has asked officials to ensure that trains gets booked to the maximum capacity and to ensure that Railways officials are likely to offer tickets at lucrative prices for the seats that would go unreserved.

The fall in ticket prices is expected on the unreserved seats on premium trains like Shatabdi, Rajdhani, and Duronto trains a day or two before the departure.

Since the launch of surge pricing on Shatabdi, Duronto and Rajdhani train tickets, Railways has lost passenger traffic to airlines. For shorter distances, people have even begun choosing road as mode of travel.
