New Delhi: The Goa Board of Secondary Education (GBSHSE) is likely to announce the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) exam results 2017 by the end of April.
Students can check their results by visiting the board's official portal at www.goaresults.nic.in or www.gbshse.gov.in.
Nearly 18,000 students of both general and vocational streams appeared for the HSSC 2017 exams, which were held from March 1 to March 22. The practical examination of the general stream commenced on February 8 while of the vocational stream on February 7.
The results, this year, have been preponed for about two weeks. In 2016, HSSC exam results were declared on May 12 and the exams took place from February 29 to March 22 at 16 centres.
According to Goa Board chairperson Jose Remedios Rebello, the early announcement of results is due to the recommendation of the Human Resources Development Ministry which has directed school boards all over India to declare respective class 12 results as soon as possible to facilitate easy assessment of IIT-JEE rankings.
The GBSHSE has come up with computerised evaluation process in order to speed up the results announcement process.
