All columns of military, deployed in the powerloom town of Malegaon and its neighbouring villages, were withdrawn as the riot-torn areas were fast returning to normalcy. The officials said that though the situation was normal and peaceful, the curfew will be imposed in the night hours for security reasons.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh will pay a visit to the trouble-torn places in Malegaon on Thursday and also visit Forhan Hospital to enquire about the health of those injured in the Dussehra day violence, which was sparked off due to anti-US protests claiming 13 lives. The city experienced longer durations of curfew relaxation between 6:00 am to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, after which the night curfew starts till 6:00 am the next morning. No untoward incident has been reported so far from any part of the city, official sources added.
