Ahmedabad, Nov 11: A local court today allowed noted danseuse Mallika Sarabhai to go to Mumbai on November 12 to attend a programme, even as her petition for modifications in the anticipatory bail was posted to November 14.
Additional city and sessions judge P B Desai, through an interim order, permitted the danseuse to visit Mumbai from
November 12 to 14, Sarabhai's advocate R K Shah told news agencies here.
The court directed Sarabhai to appear before the Naranpura Police Station on November 15.
Meanwhile, the court has adjourned the hearing on Sarabhai's plea for modifications in the anticipatory bail conditions, including a restriction on her moving out of the state, till November 14.
Sarabhai's advocate r k shah had asked for time till Novemeber 14, to reply to public prosecutor's argument, opposing her petition for modification in the bail conditions.
Public prosecutor J M Panchal had yesterday opposed granting any liberty in the conditions, saying investigation into the alleged us visa racket were at a "very crucial" stage and allowing the danseuse to leave the state could hamper the probe.
Granting the interim relief, the court noted that the state has not mentioned when she would be required for investigation.
