Kapurthala, Mar 24: President A P J Abdul Kalam, in a highly inspiring lesson on 'Vision of India' at the Pushpa Gujral Science city to 1,000-odd school children, said that nothing was impossible in life, if you dream.
With Kalam asking the children to repeat after him the mantra dream! dream! dream!, as it transforms into thought which result in action, the President's address was like a father imparting knowledge to his children. Kalam, who struck a chord with the children immediately, said March 23 was very significant because in 1931 on the same day Bhagat Singh attained martyrdom because he had dreamed to free his country.
Terming the teacher as the most important person in ones life, Kalam said students from the age of five till 17 would have spent nearly 25,000 hours in school. ''The teacher was the role model and he is the one who will shape your future,'' Kalam told the children. Citing his own example, Kalam said that in the 1960s his teacher Vikram Sarabhai had dreamed that India has to build rockets, satellites and launchers and today his dream had come true.
Kalam cautioned the children not to go near people who use the word impossible because impossible was a negative force. ''Two weeks ago there was nothing at the Science City but in a matter of time we have this huge building where we are sitting. These were all examples of human determination to achieve a goal,'' said the President. Kalam, who used the words determination, creativity, knowledge, learning and teacher repeatedly in his address, told the students that being 30 per cent of the population they were the future for India's vision that was to become a developed nation by 2020.
Kalam, whose visit to the Science City and PTU was expected to kindle and create a scientific environment in the state, said knowledge was power and would make India-self reliant. ''Thinking should become your capital asset,'' Kalam told the children.

In the end Kalam had all the children chant one more mantra by reading through a card he called the Knowledge Card. And the children followed him in unison by saying, ''Learning, learning gives creativity. Creativity leads to thinking. Thinking provides knowledge and knowledge makes me great!''
