New Delhi, Oct 06: With the Election Commission announcing the poll schedule for the national capital, Shiv Sena today announced it would contest all the 70 seats at stake in the Delhi Assembly. The party, which had an electoral tie-up with BJP in the elections to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, would "register its presence in all the constituencies," Sena's Delhi unit chief Jai Bhagwan Goyal said addressing workers on the occasion of his 44th birthday at the party headquarters here, a party release said. The party's decision follows the "green signal" it received from Sena working president Uddhav Thackeray, who was in the capital to attend the wedding of Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani's son, Goyal later said. The Sena is yet to open its account in the Delhi Assembly. BJP too had so far hinted at a poll alliance only with the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal). Sena leaders including Goyal have had several rounds of discussion with BJP leaders including general secretary Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on the issue of a pre-poll alliance. Bureau Report
