Special teams to monitor pace of development in J&K
Srinagar, Nov 09: Jammu and Kashmir government would soon constitute special teams to monitor the use of funds being utilised on development works in the state, Agriculture Minister Abdul Aziz Zargar has said.
Srinagar, Nov 09: Jammu and Kashmir government would soon constitute special teams to monitor the use of funds being utilised on development works in the state, Agriculture Minister Abdul Aziz Zargar has said.
"To be known as verifying teams, the job of such teams would be to monitor the pace of development works in remote areas," he said addressing a meeting in Kupwara, 100 km from here in north Kashmir, yesterday.
Zargar said the teams were being constituted to ensure judicious use of funds in transparent manner and proper and right use of public funds. He called upon the officials to reach the door steps of poor people and work wholeheartedly for the uplift of downtrodden who do not have access to the basic amenities.
The district development commissioner said out of the total plan outlay of Rs 54.98 crore for kupwara, 45 per cent have so far been utilised for welfare and development schemes.
Of this, Rs 4.83 crore have been utilised for the promotion of education, he said, adding for development of agriculture and horticulture sectors, Rs 56.21 lakh and Rs 22.34 lakh have respectively been spent so far during the current financial year. Bureau Report
