Los Angeles: Gwyneth Paltrow and Ryan Murphy are close pals and the "American Horror Story" creator revealed that the actress is his son Ford's godmother.
Murphy, 49, and his husband David Miller have two sons, Logan Phineas born on Christmas eve 2012 and one-year-old Ford.
While presenting Paltrow, 43, with a Lifetime Impact Award for her work with LA Kitchen, Murphy said he made a list of qualities he would like his godmother to have, reported E! online.
"I wanted her to be kind and compassionate, spiritual, funny, basically a balm to sooth in this dark and cynical world. It was also important to me that my child's godmother have a best actress Oscar," Murphy said.
"So I called my good friend Gwyneth Paltrow and I asked her if she would have us and she said yes and I consider my family to be blessed as a result," he added.
Paltrow, who won an Emmy for her work on Murphy's "Glee", was touched with his speech and thanked him for being in her life.
"Thank you, Ryan. That was so beautiful. I am so blessed to be your friend and in the lives of you and David and the kids," she said.
