New Delhi: Every bride wish to look her best on her D-Day.

Sonia Narang, Nutrition Expert, Oriflame India, however, stresses upon the fact that that along with her radiance and slim-look, she should look after her immunity, as she has to go through a lot of ups and downs these days- both emotionally and physically.

Having lunches and dinners out and lot of exertion in the preparation of the event take a toll on the health.

So Narang puts forward the following super foods, which can help her achieve good health with glowing complexion.

1. Vitamin C rich foods- Orange, kiwi, pomegranate, guava and lemon.

Vitamin C helps to boost immunity. The antioxidant properties of Vitamin C and its role in collagen synthesis make it a vital molecule for skin health. It also helps prevent and treat UV induced photo damage.

Vitamin C improves the absorption of Iron from plant based foods and hence strengthens the immune system.

Drinking a glass of lemon water in the morning as the first thing should be a daily ritual.

2. Sprouts.

Sprouts are the powerhouse of the nutrients. It has loads of B Complex Vitamin, Vitamin C and Fibre. When the grain is soaked in water and given some time to allow it to germinate that's where it gets its sprout. The process enlivens the grain (seed).

So eating a live seed definitely gives you better nutrition.

Opt for moong, kalachanna, moth, barley and Alfa for sprouting. Steam them a little, add to the salads or Take as the breakfast by itself.

3. Vegetable Juice.

Drink a glass of vegetable juice every day. Add a rainbow of vegetables in it- Tomato, Kherson, Mint, Carrot, Coriander, Ghia, Spinach, Beetroot, Ginger and others. It's rich in antioxidants. It makes the system alkaline and gives a dewy complexion.

The greener the juice the better it is because green Juice is rich in chlorophyll, a component that helps increase the hemoglobin too.

4. Seeds like flax, chia, pumpkin etc.

All seeds should be a vital part of our diet. Seeds are high in fiber, vitamin E and monounsaturated fats, zinc, minerals, B6 and folate that can keep our heart healthy, bodies disease free and skin glowing. The seeds have myriad health benefits. They make for a great to-go snack when you are out shopping. They can be eaten as a pre workout too.

5. Green tea.

It is again rich in antioxidants and isoflavonoids. They bond with the free radicals in the body and helps throw them out of the system. Drink two to three cups daily.

6. Vitamin A rich food like Spinach and Papaya.

These are the precursor of Retinol-A, a skin friendly vitamin. It promotes good digestion also as rich in fiber and hence works as a laxative. These are low in calories' hence takes care of the weight too.

7. Omega 3 rich food like- Fish, Walnuts.

Consume cold water fatty fish thrice a week. Eat 2-3 walnuts daily. Do consume Omega 3 fish oil dietary supplements of a reputed branded because that ensures better absorption.

Omega 3 gives good skin, shining hair, promotes anti-ageing, reduces belly fat, sets metabolism high and boosts memory and immunity. The list of the benefits is endless. Make it a mandatory part of your dietary regime.

According to the nutrition expert, a good lifestyle is the key to good health, which is reflected in your skin, hair, nails and weight. It is worth noting that same diets are not cut for everyone as we all are different people with different metabolism, temperament, blood type and so on.
