New Delhi, Sept 20: The CBI is likely to register an FIR in the Taj Heritage Corridor case today. The country's premier investigating agency has said that it is studying the order of the Supreme Court, which asked the agency to take appropriate steps against former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati and other state government officials. Mayawati and others have been accused of alleged financial irregularities in the Rs 175 rupee crore project. Her government had sanctioned Rs 17 crore as the first installment for its construction.
The CBI has already said that the agency would strictly go by the apex court direction on probing the misuse of official powers by the chief minister and other officials. Bureau Report
