Chennai, May 23: CBI court today issued a 'prisoner transfer warrant' for A Krishnamurthy, the chartered accountant, who acted as a conduit for fixing a transfer of an income tax official from Delhi to Mumbai with the help of a personal assistant to Union Minister of State for Finance, Gingee Ramachandran. The judge, T Ramasamy, issued the 'transfer remand' this afternoon on a petition filed by the CBI to enable the investigating agency to produce the accused along with the seized documents before the CBI special judge in Delhi on or before May 26. Krishnamurthy, a Chennai-based chartered accountant, was taken into custody by the CBI here yesterday for acting as a middle man in the case in which Perumalswamy alias Babu, the personal assistant to Gingee Ramachandran, was arrested in Delhi yesterday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs four lakh for fixing the posting. Krishnamurthy had been charged under Section 120(B) IPC and Section 7,8,12, 13 (2) read with Section 13(1)(D) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
He would be taken to Delhi by an evening flight from here. Bureau Report
