Allahabad, June 22: Uttar Pradesh government has ordered an inquiry against former municipal commissioner of the city for allegedly transferring government land to private persons by forging signatures, official sources said today. The state government has asked the Allahabad Nagar Nigam (ANN) to probe the transfer of land following a written complaint by a BJP legislator with the Chief Minister Mayawati, they said.
Former municipal commissioner Sripati had allegedly forged the signature of ownership of the land at Dariabad locality belonging to Allahabad Medical Homeo College before transferring the same to Zubair Ahmad, Shakia Begum and Moinuddin in March this year, they said. The official had been mired in controversies, including frequent strike by sweepers, during his two-year stint as commissioner before being relieved ten days ago. Bureau Report
