Kanye West's Presidential bid was news to me: Kim Kardashian

Los Angeles: Reality TV star Kim Kardashian says she was taken aback when her rapper husband Kanye West announced last month he would run for President in the year 2020.

Kardashian, 34, told Ellen DeGeneres on the comedienne's show that the announcement was a surprise but her husband could be serious about it, reported Aceshowbiz.

"That was news to me. That wasn't a discussion in our household. I believe he is serious and I know that if he puts his mind to something he'll do his best. And he will.

"You know it's been fascinating just hearing all of the conversations that have gone on since that announcement. I don't know if that was planned and I just didn't know about it or if he came up with that idea right then and there," she said.

The 38-year-old "Gold Digger" rapper himself recently said that he was not joking about running for President.

"I didn't approach that because I thought it would be fun. It wasn't like, 'Oh, let's go rent some jet skis in Hawaii.' No, the exact opposite."
