Muslim organisation asks Kalam to ban VHP, arrest its leaders
New Delhi, Oct 16: A Muslim organisation associated with the Babri Masjid issue today requested President A P J Abdul Kalam to ban organisations like VHP and arrest its leaders for making communal and provocative speeches.

leaders for making communal and provocative speeches.
In a letter to the president, chief of all India Babri
Musjid re-building committee Mohammed Younus Siddiqui said
organisations like VHP, Bajrang Dal and Shiv Sena should be
banned by the Centre.
The organistions also requested president to direct the
Centre to arrest leaders of these groups including Praveen
Togadia, Ashok Singhal, Vishnuhari Dalmiya and Giriraj Kishore
for making communal and provocative statements and speeches
thus hurting the feeling of minority community.
The organisation also said that the proposed VHP march tomorrow was in violation of court order which had banned any assembly of people at the disputed site of Babri Masjid-Ram Janambhoomi.
The letter also requested for rebuilding of the mosque which could help the country in regaining its lost secular character due to its demolition in 1992. Bureau Report
