New Delhi, Nov 26: Madhumani, wife of prime suspect Amarmani
Tripathy in the poetess Madhumita murder case, might surrender in an
Uttar Pradesh court in a day or two, a central bureau of
investigation (CBI) official said here today.
Talking to reporters the official said Madhumani had moved an
application in the designated CBI court in Uttar Pradesh to withdraw
the non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued against her as a precursor
towards surrender.
''The application to withdraw the NBW strengthens our belief that Madhumani, who had been evading arrest for past several days, is planning to surrender before the court,'' he said.
Madhumani's husband Amarmani, a former Uttar Pradesh minister, had been arrested by the CBI on charges of conspiracy to murder the poetess.
