Chennai, May 13: Early trends available for all the 39 seats in Tamil Nadu and the lone seat from the neighbouring Pondicherry show the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance ahead of the AIADMK-BJP in all the 40 seats. While former Union ministers P Chidambaram, (Congress) was leading in Sivaganga, T R Baalu of the DMK led over his AIADMK rival Badar Sayeed in Chennai south.
Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan (BJP) was trailing his CPI-M rival Bellarmin at Nagercoil by over 20,000 votes and Janata Party president Dr Subramanian Swamy was pushed to third place at Madurai, where the CPI-M candidate Mohan was ahead of his AIADMK rival.
AIADMK strongman T T V Dinakaran was trailing at Peryakulam, where the Congress nominee J M Haroon was leading by a slender margin of over 600 votes. Tamil Nadu BJP president C P Radhakrishnan is trailing by over 20,000 votes at Coimbatore against his CPI rival K Subbarayan. Former Union ministers R Prabhu (Nilgiris), K V Thangabalu (Salem), R Dhanushkodi Adityan (Tirunelveli) – all Congress -- A K Moorthy (Chengalpattu), E Ponnuswamy (Chidambaram) -- both PMK and Senjee Ramachandran (Vandavasi) MDMK are leading in their respective constituencies.
