Oliver Stone alerts people over 'Pokemon Go'

Los Angeles: Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone has warned people about the popular video game "Pokemon Go" and said it is a complete invasion of privacy.

The 69-year-old "Savages" filmmaker believes that it's not a joke and the game actually scans lot of personal information from your phone and a kind of surveillance could lead to "totalitarianism", reported Contactmusic.

"It's not funny. What's happening is a new level of invasion. The profits are enormous here for places like Google. They've invested a huge amount of money in data mining what you are buying, what you like, your behaviour," Stone said.

While promoting his new movie "Snowden" at San Diego, the filmmaker continued, "It's what some people call surveillance capitalism. You'll see a new form of, frankly, a robot society. It's what they call totalitarianism."
