Los Angeles, Nov 30: The Los Angeles Kings defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 3-1 on Saturday.
Michael Cammalleri scored his 3rd and 4th goals of the last 6 games, as the Los Angeles Kings defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 3-1. With today's victory, the Kings take a 2-1 season series lead between the two teams. For Chicago, the lose pushes their losing streak to 6 and their winless streak to 11. The Blackhawks have only managed 1 tie since goalie Jocelyn Thibault went on the injured list with a hip injury. Kings goalie Roman Cechmanek recorded 20 saves in the victory. However a goal late in 3rd period by Kyle Calder ended his bid for a shutout. The Kings took the lead at the 12:38 mark of the 2nd period on Chartrand's short handed goal. The Kings lead increased to 2 when Cammalleri scored a wraparound goal at 5:17 of the second period. Cammalleri scored again with 5:20 remaining after Sim found him cruising down the slot allalone with a pass from the left boards.
