bribery allegations levelled by cricketer Ritesh Yadav.
Sports Secretary S R Lakha has been asked to probe the
matter and submit his report within a week's time, state
Sports Minister R K Chaudhary said in a press release issued
here today.
In the wake of Abhijit Kale episode, Uttar Pradesh cricketer Ritesh Yadav had alleged that selectors Gopal Sharma and Shashikant Khandekar had demanded money for his selection in the U-17 cricket team for Vijay Merchant cricket tournament.
The allegation has been denied by the selectors, one of whom has also threatened to file a defamation suit against Yadav.
Chaudhary said the sports bodies would not be allowed to function in an arbitrary manner.
"If need be the state government would bring a government order to stop corrupt practices prevalent in sport associations, the release said.
