Kolkata, June 08: Congress today charged ruling CPI(M) with rigging by-polls at Vidyasagar assembly and Nabadwip parliamentary constituencies in West Bengal. WBPCC vice-president Pradip Bhattacharya alleged CPI(M) cadres captured and jammed booths, prevented the electorate from casting their votes, drove out Congress polling agents and even cast false votes at a booth with the help of the presiding officer.
At some booths the Congressmen, however, thwarted the attempts of the CPI(M) members while making timely complaints to the Election Commission, he told reporters.
