The marriage of Shrivishnu Basil plant (Tulsi) is celebrated on one of the days between the eleventh day of Hindu month of Kartik till Poornima (full moon night). It is believed that Tulsi plant (holy basil) is married to the Hindu god Vishnu or his Avatar Krishna on this ceremonial day.

A Tulsi plant is beautifully planted and decorated. As per the rituals, Sugarcane and marigold is offered to the plant. Preferably, sit facing westward during the puja. The marriage is performed in the evening and a lot of people observe fast.

The month of festivity and celebration is considered one of the most suspicious months and Tulsi Vivah during this time is considered the best example of marriage. During the Vivah ritual, seek blessings from Tulsi, restore your faith in the good times and diminish negativity.

One of the most powerful and useful plants, Tulsi is consumed in many ways. Just by dropping the Tulsi leaves in water, it makes it Satvik (Spiritually pure). The Tulsi wedding signifies end of monsoon season and the beginning of the Hindu wedding season.

On this occasion Hindu Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped in the form of Tulsi. People seek blessings and bliss in life, during this day.
