Dehradun, July 28: In a new twist to the alleged suicide by an ONGC officer's wife and daughter, his mother-in-law today lodged an FIR alleging that he was harassing her daughter. Suspecting foul play behind the alleged suicide of her daughter Shailaja and grand daughter Nandini, Rajlaxmi has stated in the FIR that her son-in-law, Bhaskaran, was harassing his wife for a long time, Superintendent of Police G S Mortolia said here.
The parents of Shailaja, who arrived here last night from Chennai, told the police that Bhaskaran had called them on the fateful day saying that he was not interested in staying with their daughter and they should take her away.
Shailaja, along with her daughter, was found hanging to a ceiling fan at their residence in Maharani Bagh locality on Saturday night.
Bhaskaran, who is a superintendent in geophysics department of ONGC, had reportedly told the police that his wife was suffering from depression and this might be the reason behind the extreme step.
Bhaskaran was transferred to Dehradun from Assam two months ago and was presently staying in a rented house in the Maharani Bagh locality, police said. Bureau Report
