Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Monday held talks with his British counterpart Tony Blair focussing on the ongoing war against terrorism, the post-Taliban scenario in Afghanistan and other regional and international issues of mutual concern. Within hours of his arrival in London on a hurricane day-long official visit, Vajpayee went in for a one-on-one meeting with Blair at 10, Downing Street, followed by extended parleys over lunch where both sides were assisted by officials.
Prime Minister`s national security advisor Brajesh mishra, foreign secretary Chokila Iyer and high commissioner to Britain Nareshwar Dayal were among those present.
This is the second face-to-face interaction between the two leaders in a month after Blair`s visit to New Delhi in October.
Vajpayee is the first Indian Prime Minister to come to Britain on an official visit after seven years.
The Prime Minister arrived on the final leg of his three-nation tour having visited Moscow, Washington and then attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
