Islamabad, Oct 13: Pakistan's main opposition Pakistan Peoples Party, today flayed Foreign Minister Khurishd Mehmood Kasuri's remarks that it was "unrealistic" to expect US to withdraw from Iraq saying it indicates a "more loyal than the king" attitude. The statement of the Foreign Minister as reported in the press that it was unrealistic for United States to withdraw from Iraq is reflective of "more loyal than the king" attitude as the Foreign Minister has gone even beyond the position taken by the United States, PPP general secretary, Raja Rabani said in a statement here. In saying so the Foreign Minister has "endorsed the repugnant concepts of unilateral action and pre-emptive strike. This will have dangerous implications in the context of the South Asian subcontinent and the Indian posture in the region," Rabani said wondering if Kasuri had realised the far-reaching implications of his statement on the situation in Palestine and Kashmir. He also pointed out that such a stand was opposite of the OIC stand on the issue and said "what effect this will have on Pakistan's relations with the Muslim world except to further extend its isolation." "Is the government trying to distance itself from the collective position taken by the Organization of Islamic Countries."
