Nagpur, Sept 13: Ruling out any possibility of joining the tinsel land, cricket icon Kapil Dev today said he is "more comfortable acting in real life than in reel life". Despite being familiar with the rudiments needed for screen performance, "I would prefer to remain with cricket and its promotion as a sport," Kapil said.
The former Indian skipper, who was here for the promotion of a television series anchored by him, said he was "extremely satisfied with his involvement with cricket". Kapil said he had done some TV programmes, mostly as an interviewer, and was well-versed with the delivery of dialogues, an essential ingredient for a film actor.
The Wisden cricketer of the century, who recently visited cricket coaching camp in Bangalore, observed, "Training has now acquired a scientific approach and has become more professional. Now you can watch your batting on video and improve your game." According to the him there is a need for a full-time wicket keeper. "If we get one wicketkeeper-batsman, there will be nothing like it," he said.
On proposed Indian junior cricket team series against Pakistan, Kapil said, "It is upto the government to decide."
"No cricketer has ever said, he won't be playing against Pakistan. We did not play against South Africa for 20 years," he reminded. Bureau Report
